2004-2007 Books designed and produced include Mysteries of Faith: The Prophets, a special edition for USN≀ The NYT Practical Guide to Practically Everything, published by St Martins Press; Trend Watch 2004, 2006, publications of the Real Estate Department, Johns Hopkins University.
2000– Created a series of paintings published as illustrations to Crow’s Eye View: The Infamy of Lee Sang, Korean Poet, published by The Word Works, 2002. Also edited the translation, designed and oversaw production of the book. Serve as Design Director for the Word Works, overseeing the design of catalogs, brochures, flyers. Design and produce some three collections of poetry published each year. Participated in group and one-man art exhibits.
1998–2000 Books designed include: Office Development Handbook and Resort Development Handbook, texts published by Urban Land Institute; The Capitalist Philosophers by Andrea Gabor, Times Books, 2000; Fannie: The Talent for Success of Writer Fannie Hurst by Brooke Kroeger, Times Books, 1999.
Books designed and produced include Trend Watch: 2000, a publication of the Allan L. Berman Real Estate Institute, Johns Hopkins University; and, Phoenix Suites and Survivable World, poetry published by The Word Works, Inc.1995–1997 Responsible for the layout and production of the Practical Guide to Practically Everything, a 1,024-page, 2-color, illustrated almanac published by Random House in 1996, 1997, 1998.

Conceived and designed a number of books, including Masterpieces, Best Loved Paintings in American Museums, published by Simon & Schuster. Traveled to Singapore and Hong Kong to meet with color separators and printers regarding the production of books.Formatted and oversaw production for a number of books published by Reader’s Digest, including Trees, Deserts, and How a House Works.
Created prototypes for high-end lifestyle men’s and women’s monthlies for IMI in Korea.1989–1993 Editorial design consultant/Art director International Media Institute, Seoul, S. Korea. Instituted editorial and production systems for the inauguration of Sisa Journal, the first—and now the leading—computer-paginated, 4-color, weekly news magazine in Korea, trained designers, researchers, reporters, and editors in these systems. Functioned as its art director for the first 2 years, supervising 6 designers.
1991–1993 Created original formats and style for the launching of TV Journal, a weekly entertainment magazine, consulted in the hiring and training of editorial and design staff. As Art Director, oversaw design and production for the first two years, supervising a staff of 6 designers.
1992 Oversaw the conversion of both publications to a Macintosh desktop publishing production system, training designers in Quark and Photoshop and adapting editorial systems to the new technology.1986–1989 Editorial designer. U.S. News & World Report, Washington, DC
Section designer responsible for national and international news sections of the magazine, as well as Currents. Met with editors, writers, photo editors to allocate space and plan the elements of news stories and features. Worked with editors, researchers, graphic designers and illustrators to conceive and develop graphics as required. Edited photos, styled type, fit copy, commissioned art, designed pages. Supervised 12 page designers. Principal assistant to the managing editor responsible for design, and decision-maker in his absence.1985–1986 Consultant Self-employed, Washington, D.C.
Assisted Edwin Taylor, internationally renowned publication designer, in the redesign of U.S.News & World Report, which involved the restructuring of the magazine from its editorial concept to styling of grids, text, and headline faces. Directed production of the prototype issue; prepared presentation and authored style manual.

SKILLS
- Adept in Macintosh operating system. Proficient with InDesign, Quark XPress and Photoshop and conversant with Freehand, Illustrator, and a wide range of desktop publishing and word processing software, as well as many communications and graphics programs. Acquainted with the Internet and its protocols.
- Experienced in design and supervising the design of layouts, graphics, and illustration for all manner of periodicals and books. Experienced in a wide range of manufacturing and pre-press production systems and technologies.
